The federal government has declared July 17, Friday, and July 20, Monday, public holidays to mark the Id-El-Fitr celebration.
Premium Times reports that Abubakar Magaji, the permanent secretary of the ministry of interior, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government.
Addressing all Muslims and Nigerians in general, Magaji urged them to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which include peace, love and sacrifice for the development of the nation.
He also called on Nigerians to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, which is determined to build a peaceful, united and virile nation.
Wishing Nigerians a happy and joyfull Id-El-Fitr celebration, Magaji urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation.
